An Arizona woman visited three doctors before she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After her annual mammogram last year, the 66 year-old was told they would need to perform more tests.
The following month she was told that everything was fine and that a doctor thought he saw something suspicious, later discovered that was benign. She states that a someone at her doctor’s office told her that he was following another state’s guidelines for diagnosing cancer.
Unconvinced, she went to a third doctor for tests. It was there that it was discovered she had breast cancer in both breasts. Unlike what her doctor’s office told her, mammography is federally regulated and the same for every state.
