The recalled pills have an expiration date that ranges between January 31, 2013 and March 31, 2014. The mistake in question deals with the distribution of the placebo pills throughout the pack. In a normal pack of birth control, all of the placebo pills are placed next to one another in a row. In the defective packs, the placebo pills were randomly placed in all four weeks of the pills.

The fatal accident occurred on Interstate 75 during the early morning hours on Sunday. Dense fog and smoke from brush fires prompted Florida Highway Patrol to shut down part of the highway late Saturday night. About a quarter hour after reopening the interstate, six tractor-trailers, at least a dozen cars, and a motor home collided with one another.

Witnesses claim that cars burst into flames, some were hit several times, and others were wedged under the bellies of tractor-trailers. Extremely low visibility is believed to be have been a major factor.

The 15 year veteran of the force was killed earlier this week while she was stepping out of her patrol car on I-75/I-85 to assist a fellow officer at a traffic accident. As the female officer was getting out of her car, a car driven by the 22 year-old suspect hit and killed her. She is the second female Atlanta police officer to be killed in the line of duty.

The woman is facing charges of first degree vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated, and failure to yield to person authorized to direct traffic.

The fatal accident occurred at around 11 p.m. when the officer was getting out of her vehicle to help another officer at the southbound Interstate 75 ramp to Intestate 85 North.  A passing vehicle driven by a 22-year old hit the police woman.

Police shut down the interstate until 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning to perform investigations.  The driver that struck the police officer was arrested on charges of reckless driving, driving under the influence, and first-degree vehicular homicide.

Mayor of Atlanta Kasim Reed said the officer “was a veteran police officer whose sense of duty and commitment to public safety inspired many of her fellow officers.  The city of Atlanta is quiet as we mourn this terrible loss.”

The death toll has reached 11 and 21 people are still missing, including two Americans. Divers returned to the ship today after efforts were postponed on Wednesday due to rough seas, which have caused the ship the shift deeper into the ocean.

The 29 year-old lawmaker was pulled over after a police officer witnessed him running a red light. When the officer came to his window, he allegedly smelled of alcohol and had watery eyes. After initially refusing to take a breathalyzer test, Smith failed two field sobriety tests.

He then was arrested and taken to the city jail where he blew a 0.10, over the legal limit of 0.08. Smith has been charged with two DUI charges and failing to obey a traffic light. Smith has since been released on bond.

A total of 14 people were on their way from Atlanta to New Orleans to attend the Bowl Championship Series between LSU and Alabama. The driver of the recreational vehicle, 66, died in the hospital and a 47 year-old man died the day before. At least ten other passengers were injured.

The nursing supervisor at the Mississippi hospital where many of the victims are being treated said three were in intensive care and one is in extreme critical condition.

According to authorities, the RV’s front tire blew out on Interstate 59. The driver lost control of the vehicle and drove into a tree in the median. At least two people on board were ejected from the RV.
