Man killed in motorcycle and truck accident

A 20-year-old man from Georgia was killed in a motorcycle and truck accident in Scranton.

According to authorities, the accident occurred as the man pulled out of the a gas station on Main Ave. around 10:40 a.m. and collided with the truck. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The 73-year-old man and 43-2-year-old woman that were in the truck were also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident cause Main Ave. to be closed for hours as investigators gathered information from the scene.

Traffic blocked after semi-truck flips over

A semi-truck overturned blocking one lane of traffic on eastbound 285.

Officials have said that the driver of the 18-wheeler was traveling at a high speed when the 18-wheeler tried to stop and could not stop in time. This caused the semi to lock up and tip over in front of a pickup truck.

Both drivers only suffered minor injuries, but were still taken to the hospital to be examined. Rescue workers had to upright the truck, removed the cargo and offload a 150 gallons of diesel fuel.

High school teacher killed in truck accident

A 24-year-old high school teacher was killed inĀ  a car vs. truck accident after losing control of her Ford Mustang, according to Georgia State Patrol.

An emergency call was made around 9 p.m. after the woman lost control of her vehicle and hit a tractor-trailer head on in the westbound lane of State Route 376. The woman was killed immediately and the driver of the truck suffered minor injury. State troopers are still investigating the accident.

Woman killed in semi-truck accident

A woman from the Climax area was killed in a car vs. truck accident after she ran a stop sign and collided with a semi-truck.

The 56-year-old woman was heading eastbound on Open Pond Road when she failed to stop at an intersection. Her car then collided with the side of a semi-trailer that was traveling southbound.

Her car spun counter clockwise and came to a stop 135 feet from the spot where they collided. The woman died of injuries sustained in the accident. The semi-truck driver was not injured in the accident.
