A 73-year-old Georgia woman died when her house caught on fire and firefighters did not properly respond. She reportedly called 911 after her oxygen tank, which she uses to aid her breathing, caught fire. Her phone when dead shortly after giving her address. When firefighters arrived, they saw no sign of fire from the outside and drove away without performing an inspection.
Several hours later, neighbors saw flames coming from the house and called 911. The woman was found dead in her charred garage. The firefighters' actions were against department protocol. Their lack of investigation caused four of them to be fired.
