I-285 has recently been re-opened following an accident that occurred early Wednesday morning.  The accident involved a pedestrian being struck and killed,  causing the highway to be shut down for several hours. 

According to reports,  a 26 year-old-woman was attempting to cross the highway when she was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer. 

No charges have been filed against the driver of the truck. The accident is still currently under investigation.

A University of Georgia baseball paper was recently in an accident that left the player paralyzed below the waist.  The accident took place after the player was leaving a study session on campus.   The player was riding his scooter during the night when he struck a car by a car on his way home.  After hitting the ground,  the man reported that he was unable to feel his legs. 

The coach for the baseball team has stated that this has been a very serious event with the team and organization.  The coach of the team stated that the accident has changed many individuals on the teams outlook about life.   The player is currently in a hospital attempting to recover. The player is learning how to live from a wheelchair and being unable to use his legs.

A daycare bus was carrying about a dozen young children when it was struck Wednesday by a car.  The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon in southwest Atlanta. 

The driver of the car had minor injuries from the accident including cuts and bruises on his arm.  No children were seriously injured in the accident,  although minor injuries were reported.

The accident is currently under investigation.  No charges are currently expected to be filed, however they could be filed pending the outcome of the investigation.
