The driver of a school bus has been charged for causing an accident in which a 5 year-old boy was struck and killed by a bus Tuesday afternoon.

The bus driver, a 37 year-old woman, was charged with homicide by vehicle 2nd degree in the accident.

According to reports, the boy had gotten off the school bus and walked in front of the bus when the driver began to move forward.  The bus then struck and ran the boy over.   The boy was rushed to a hospital where he would eventually die from his injuries.

A young 13 year-old boy was recently struck by a vehicle in south east Atlanta.  According to reports,  the teenager was leaving a bus when he stepped out from behind it.  Another vehicle was approaching the bus and struck the point as he stepped from behind the bus. 

The driver of the vehicle stopped after the accident and assisted.  It is currently believed that no charges will be filed in the incident.

The boy is said to be in critical condition and was taken to the Grady Memorial Hospital.
